Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather 2007Mr. Olympus Leather 2007 Sir Jeff Ms Olympus Leather 2007 Angela AlbertSir Jeff from Florida was named Mr. Olympus Leather 2007 and Angela Albert from Ottawa, Canada became Ms Olympus Leather 2007 on Sunday night, February 18 in the auditorium above the Chicago Eagle in Chicago, IL. The theme for Mr. and Ms Olympus Leather 2007 Show was We Will Rock You, a Rock opera tribute to Queen. Cyon Flaire performed the opening number with contestants marching down the center aisle and on stage to the beat. The theme was choreographed by RJ Chaffin and he was joined in production by Gary Chichester and Dean Ogren. Flaire opened Act III with I Wanna Break Free and it was a terrific as the opening number. Joining Angela Albert and Sir Jeff in competing were Lord Prophett from Oklahoma and Insatiable Amazon from Atlanta, GA. Ms Olympus Leather 2005 Caro was the head judge. She was joined by Ms Olympus Leather 2006 Lady Raven, Mr. Olympus Leather 2006 Terrell Brown, Mr. Chicago Leather 1991 Chuck Windemuth and International Ms Leather 2006 Lady Faye. Great Lakes Olympus Leather 2003 Bruno Mondello was the tally master, John Prather was the contestant coordinator and Philip Redmond was the judges' boy. Each contestant presented a fantasy on stage and answered light and serious questions for the staged portion of the contest. Paul Sullenger sang Who Wants To Live Forever to the delight of the crowd. Lady Raven gave a short talk regarding how the venue for her Raven's Ball in September was closed by the City of Stuebenville, OH. Each of the last two years, Chicago Eagle owner Chuck Renslow has provided a hot dancer or two to spice up the evening and this year's bike ride and shower gyrating stripper was as hot as ever. Terrell and Raven gave their step down speeches and performed a short closing fantasy that brought tears to the eyes of many. A victory party filled the Chicago Eagle downstairs and ran into early Monday morning. The entire Leather community is invited to participate in the first round of the awards process by submitting nominations electronically. Properly submitted nominations will be passed on to a Selection Panel composed of individuals who received awards in 2007. This panel will vote and decide the winners Who Is Eligible: Any member of the Leather community is eligible to win awards with the exception of those listed in the Who Is Not Eligible statement in the next paragraph. The selection panel will determine winners based on community service in the last year. Club officers, organizers, business owners, titleholders, behind-the-scenes workers, philanthropists, writers, columnists, authors, artists, producers, Leather/latex artisans and the like are sought as nominees. We are looking for nominees who have made contributions that have directly affected the Leather community in a positive way. Who Is Not Eligible: Anyone who won an award last year is not eligible to win any award this year. Award winners must wait two years to be eligible to win again in the same category. Example: one who was the Woman of the Year Award in 2007 would not be eligible in any category in 2008 and would be eligible for any award excepting Woman of the Year in 2009. In 2010 that person would be eligible again in all categories. The following received Pantheon of Leather Community Service wards in 2007 and are thus ineligible in any category in 2008: Dave Rhodes, Pandora, Guy Baldwin, WOOLF, ((Wichita Organization Of Leather Fetishes), Cleveland Leather Awareness Weekend (CLAW), Hooker and Boys, International Mr. Leather, Leathermen's Discussion Group, Eagle LA Bar, Chuck Renslow, Bo Ladashevska, Dean Ogren, John Prather, Mike Zuhl, Matt Vertz, Dan Falkenham, Gwen Hardy, Master Taino, Master Z Chicago, Scott Erickson, Dodger Allen, Connie Cox, Robert Valin, Cheryl Spector, Jon Langoni, Dexter Edmond, George Wong, George Hester, Joee Arteaga, Lady Justice, Philip Dietch, Michelle Jackson, Caron "Caro" Ryer, Dr. Richard Sprott and Thom Dombkowski.
