The nomination process for the 2017 Pantheon of Leather Awards began on Thursday morning, June 1 with a deadline of June 17. This is the first step in a greatly-renovated awards system.

The community makes nominations as it has done in the past, but there is a sharp turn from there. The community will vote for the nominee finalists who are determined by which received the most nominations. The old system has selection panels comprised of previous years' award recipients. This move gives the greater community more say in who wins and will generate more interest.

As in the past, it is all electronic. The nomination form is a simple-to-use Survey Monkey program.

The roll out was done on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other forms of social media. In the first day there were over 100 forms submitted and most had several nominations in each.

Once nominations are collected, nominees will be notified in order to obtain their bios. Final voting will be open to the general public from July 1-31.

The Pantheon of Leather Awards will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dallas Near the Galleria on Thursday night, August 31 during International Leather Sir, Leatherboy and Community Bootblack weekend in

Dallas, TX. The theme is Defiant.
