Valley Pride Street Festival hosted by Bullet Bar

The Valley Pride Street Festival was hosted by Bullet Bar on Sunday, August 12 on Burbank Blvd. between Cahuenga Blvd. and Strohm Street. This was a first=year effort. While I was there, at least half of the crowd was from the Leather community. At the same time, in conjunction with Valley Pride, MCC United Church of Christ in the Valley held an extension for families and young people. There were food trucks, vendors, clubs including Avatar Club Los Angeles, ONYX Southwest, Bears LA. The Bullet Bar and Eagle LA teamed up to host a cigar lounge. Arktos of Ohio - Annual run

Brother, Help Thyself is accepting applications for grants and awards

Brother, Help Thyself has begun accepting applications for grants and other awards, and will continue to accept them until 11:59 PM on August 31. Each year, BHT, a local organization designed to support nonprofits dealing with the LGBTQ community and groups affected by HIV, doles out thousands of dollars in grants to help those smaller nonprofits carry out their mission or undertake special projects. To qualify for consideration for a grant, an organization’s 2017 gross revenue must have been below $2,000,000.

Leather Heart Foundation launches General Assistance Applications

Over the last year the Leather Heart Foundation (LHF) has gone through structural changes and reorganization internally to bring all of the fetish communities LHF serves a strong foundation for those facing financial hardships. LHF is the only non-profit group of its kind - by the community, for the community. Recently, LHF opened applications to the Disaster Relief Fund for individuals affected by the devastating wildfires and hurricanes. Today, LHF is announcing the reopening of regular applications for support due to financial hardship.
