International Puppy and Trainer

The 18th Annual International Puppy and Trainer Contest (IPTC) was held at IPAHW on July 26-28 in Indianapolis, IN where NE puppy 2019 Pup Sirius was sashed as the 2019-2020 International Puppy and Handler David as the 2019-2020 IPTC International Trainer. 20 outstanding contestants from all over the world graced the stage and competed, 16 puppies and four Handler/Trainers. Representation this year came from the USA, Canada, UK, Austria, and Australia. Contestants competed over the course of the weekend, with the choice of doing a show ring or fantasy/play scene as one of their main judging components. 10 judges (which included two international judges from the Netherlands and Australia), five for the Puppies and five for the Handler/Trainers, were brought to IPTC to adjudicate the contest.
Hump Day's Second Anniversary
Today's Dave Rhodes' Hump Day marks our Second Anniversary of disseminating news to the Leather/BDSM/Fetish/Kink community on an almost weekly basis. We have grown in content and in readership in this period of time. Thank you to all who have read, submitted articles and/or photos and for sharing with your friends. Keep it up.
Up Your Alley
The weather was the best it could be for the Up Your Alley Fair in San Francisco, CA on Sunday, July 28 and there was a hug crowd. It was warm enough to get shirts off, nudists doing their thin and cool enough that people were not hydrating from heat. Seems there were less booths, especially on Market Street, but don't take that as official. The 15 Association had its open dungeon on the north part of Dore Alley which was where most of the booths were. There is a hot batch of men for San Francisco's Bare Chest Calendar which was on sale. Peter Fiske had his whips and books available. The Mama's Family photo shoot was cancelled a few days before the Fair.

NCSF honors Gayle Rubin
The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom conferred the 2019 Race Bannon Advocacy Award on Gayle S. Rubin Sunday, July 28 on the soundstage at Up Your Alley in San Francisco, CA. Race Bannon and Russell Stambaugh recognized Gayle's decades of Leather leadership. Rubin is an associate professor of anthropology and women's studies at The University of Michigan. She won the award for the breadth and diversity of her advocacy accomplishments, including her role founding Samois, the first Lesbian Leather organization, her role as an archivist of Leather history, including her service on the board of the Leather Archives and Museum, her writings on the 1990s feminist sex wars regarding pornography, and her books, including "Deviations: A Gayle Rubin Reader." Gayle is currently working on "Valley of the Kings: Gay Male Leather in San Francisco, 1960-1990."

Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District to elect its initial Board

The Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District will elect its initial Board of Directors at its next Community Meeting on Wednesday, August 21 at 7 PM in Room 204 of the SF LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market Street in San Francisco. At that meeting we will select nine individuals to serve as the initial Board of Directors. Directors will serve terms of up to three years. Full information about Directors’ duties are included in the Bylaws. Any individual may be nominated to serve on the Board. You may nominate yourself, or nominate someone else.

This active club holds their monthly meetings on the third Wednesday at MCC Las Vegas at 7 PM. The next date is August 21.
