Leatherman and Leatherwoman of Color - Mufasa's Pride Fellowship
Leatherman of Color 2019 is Jack Thompson and Leather Woman of Color 2019 is Marialuisa Garcia after taking their tiles the weekend of December 8-10 in Washington, DC. Khalid El Bey was the emcee and the judges were House Of Blue, Que Blue Frost, Justin B. Terry-Smith, Dominion ONYX, Dax Volpe and Glenda Rider. Dax Volpe proudly passed the title on to after a successful year. The People of Color Leather Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held at the DC Eagle on Saturday. The weekend was Mufasa's Pride Fellowship Weekend. Other events were a Friday night meet and greet, Leather University on Saturday and a Sunday Fellowship Victory Brunch at Alero.
Bears, Bikers and Mayhem
After the winter thaw events perk up on the East Coast and a big one is Bears, Bikers and Mayhem VIII which will be held April 11-14 in Baltimore, MD at the Eisenhower Inn and Aspire Conference Center. The Mr. Mayhem Leather, and Leather Bear contests are a huge part of Bears, Bikers and Mayhem ad there is plenty more including Thursday pre-party, bowling, Whiskey and Cigars, vendors, cigar party, PanDEMONium, after parties, downtown tour, recovery meeting, Porn Star Bingo, Smell My Pits - Pig, dinner and show, pool party, cuddle room, Bots To Briefs and Sunday Brunch.

Goddess Sadie Hawkins murdered in Phoenix

The Leather Community is once again mourning the loss of one of it's own. Goddess Sadie Hawkins, a professional Dominatrix and leather lifestyle educator was murdered in her apartment in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday afternoon, December 12. Witnesses told police, after arriving in response to a call that shots were fired, that an unknown suspect had been arguing with the victim, who then shot her and fled the scene. Police do not have anyone in custody and are asking anyone who may have information to call 480-WITNESS. Sadie was a Guest of Honor at DomCon: New Orleans in 2016 and attended Leather events all over the country. A Memorial si planned for Saturday, January 19 at Sanctuary Studios LAX.
Dave Rhodes' Christmas and Hanukkah List
It's coming on Christmas Eve. Santa's sleigh went in for its tune up and is ready to go. An annual feature in the print version of The Leather Journal, Dave Rhodes' Christmas and Hanukkah List now appears in mid-December. Since the November - December Issue comes out to early, so we moved it to our web site. As an added bonus, we can add as many names as we want and perhaps a photo here and there. Look for it.
Hump Day will return on Wednesday, January 2. We are taking a break for the holidays.
Dave Rhodes turns 70
I turned 70 years old on December 20. Dr. Larry and his husband, William, is throwing a huge LA Dodgers-themed birthday party for me on Saturday night. Now to remember a little:
The first time I voted it was for a Republican - Abraham Lincoln.
It is true that Rome was not built in a day.
There were no dinosaurs on Noah's Ark, except for Noah.
The egg did come before the chicken - It doesn't matter because I ate both of them.
There were three tablets on top of the mountain and Moses dropped one - and it had nine more rules. Number 11 was, "Thou Shalt Not Pay Retail."
LA Leather judges named
The Los Angeles Leather Coalition disclosed the names of the nine judges who will select the next Mr., Ms Los Angeles Leather and Bootblack.
The panel includes International Mr. Leather 2018 James Lee, International Ms Bootblack 2018 Teagan, Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2018 Ben Kaufher, Ms Los Angles Leather 2016 Moon O'Neal, Ms California Leather Tuesday Niles, noted emcee Karen Ultra, American Leatherman 2008 Randy Carmenaty Mx International Olympus Leather 2017 Matt O'Toole and Bullet Bar owner Michael Lara.
Angeles Leather Pride Week will be held March 24-31.

CMEN - new location and dates for West Coast Gathering

CMEN’s West Coast Gathering 2019 will be held August 19-28 at a new location in Southern California’s San Bernardino Mountains. The move follows the November 2018 Woolsey Fire which devastated 96,949 acres in the Malibu area including the conference center CMEN has called home for the past 20 years. The annual all nude, all male gathering has grown to include naturist men from throughout North America, the Pacific and Europe. Participants share experiences and learn new skills in workshops, and enjoy the Southern California sun, camaraderie, activities, and shows. California Men Enjoying Naturism (CMEN) is an international social organization for gay and bisexual men who enjoy naturism. CMEN also hosts smaller naturist gatherings in Northern California and Tennessee, as well as other naturist recreation and social events in the greater Los Angeles area throughout the year.

International Geared Pup
The International Geared Pup 2019 Contest will be held on February 10. Unlike other contests currently being held in the Leather, rubber, kink, and fetish communities, International Geared Up Pup is held entirely online. There is no physical venue, which means that there are no travel limitations or expensive run packages to purchase. Any pup, worldwide, is truly capable of entering and participating in the contest. There were 10 contestants last year. The inaugural International Geared Pup titleholder is Alpha Pup Ashtray Boner Kain of Studio City, CA.
Men of ONYX - Blackout XXIV

Leather Heart Foundation launches General Assistance Applications
Over the last year the Leather Heart Foundation (LHF) has gone through structural changes and reorganization internally to bring all of the fetish communities LHF serves a strong foundation for those facing financial hardships. LHF is the only non-profit group of its kind - by the community, for the community. Recently, LHF opened applications to the Disaster Relief Fund for individuals affected by the devastating wildfires and hurricanes. Today, LHF is announcing the reopening of regular applications for support due to financial hardship. Members of the various fetish communities including, but not limited to, the Leather/BDSMKink/Rubber communities may apply.
Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance education
The Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance holds educational classes on the second Saturday of each month in Denver, CO. The next two are on January 12 and February 9 classes begin at 2 PM. The RMLA advocates for an alliance of the regional Leather, kink, fetish, and BDSM communities thru outreach, social, and educational events. The next SFLDG presentation will be on Wednesday, December 26 at 7:30 PM. Brian Bolt Donner will present Kinky Tech. Programs are every fourth Wednesday, with some exceptions. They vary from interview, to demo, to community panel discussion, and more. Attendance varies from 60-150 people. Occasionally a presenter may ask for audience participation, but its never required.
ONYX Southeast - Bar Night

Most of us have eaten there when it was Farmboy Restaurant. Only the name has changed to Hunter & Charlie's. Serving American Food, the restaurant in Hollywood has been popular with LA's Leather community with many groups meeting there.
