They are Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather 2017 Martel Brown, International Mr. Leather 2017 Ralph Bruneau, International Mr. Leather 1992 Lenny Broberg, Mr. Eagle NYC 2016 Darkqwolf, American Leatherwoman 2012 Doc, Mr. Leather Europe Joe King and Sister Tiny Bubbles. The judges and emcees have been announced for the International Master/slave contest which will be held March 8-11 in Dallas, TX. Mr. Michigan Leather Weekend is excited to announce Tim Koski is the new Mr. Michigan Leather 2018. Tim comes from Chesaning, MI and is Mr. Dunes Leather, 2017. He will be competing at International Mr. Leather in May. On December 17 it was announced that Mr. Michigan Leather 2018 Erwin Willhite was stepping away from the title for personal reasons.

Carter/Johnson Leather Library - Florida Annex

We are getting closer to opening up the Carter/Johnson Leather Library - Florida Annex. We assembled the new bookshelves last weekend and have them in place at our local SFC10 dungeon in Fort Lauderdale. We have several totes filled with books, magazines and Florida history items. Our next step is to install the lighting and locks. We are hoping to have a ribbon cutting ceremony in the next four to six weeks. We will post the date as soon as we have it finalized.

Sin in the City
Sin in the City 2018 - Lead us into Temptation will be held at the Alexis Park Resort in Las Vegas, NV the weekend of February 2-4 and features the International Person of Leather contest, at least 70 workshops and classes, vendors and socials. A web site has been set up to share meeting announcements, documents, and open discussion about the proposed Leather Cultural District in the South Of MArket district of San Francisco, CA. So much of the community discussion has taken place and initial working committees have been formed to move this process forward. KinkFest XX will be at the Portland Expo Center and is being produced by the Portland Leather Alliance March 30 in Portland, OR. The LA Whip Cracking Convention hosted by Adam 'Crack' Winrich at McCambridge Park on Saturday and Sunday, January 6 and 7. This is a free competition for whip cracking, open to all ages. The competitions are: Single Whip Freestyle, Double Whip Freestyle, Speed and Accuracy, Bullwhip Fast Draw and Long Whip Competition. How you can include your information on Dave Rhodes' Hump Day - Writer Guidelines
If you come up with a date and basic information on a new event, please send us the date and a short detail or two. This is designed for the web site and less so for print, so there is no 45 days-in-advance deadline. If your event is happening on November 15, make sure I have it by Monday afternoon, November 6.

Things to send:
1. Short article of about 90 words. So what if you are a few over. Just don't turn it into a Russian novel.

2. Photo or two. Landscape preferred. Must be a jpg. Taken with cellphone is fine. Please supply photo credit.

3. Link to a working site. Web site is preferential, Facebook still works.

4. Five "W's" - Who, what, when, why and where. All are important.

5. Please be concise. In news, verbosity is not a virtue; it is an editor's nightmare.

Style sheet stuff
When listing titleholders we use the title followed by the person's name - International Mr. Leather 1993 Henri ten Have, not Henri ten Have. One would say President Obama, not Obama, President. Less punctuation makes an easier read.
