Leather at Stonewall 50

On June 30, New York City’s LGBTQ Community celebrated both the 50th Anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion, considered the start of the 20th century Gay Liberation Movement, and the first World Pride here with a massive Pride March, the city’s 50th and this writer’s 49th. The contingent that I participated in was the Eagle NYC Leather Contingent, coordinated by Eagle co-owner Derek Danton and Eagle stalwarts Cee Jay Lyons, CB Kirby, and Mike deSanto. The contingent, more than 400 strong, included titleholders and others from such states as Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and California, and from Puerto Rico, France, and Australia as well. Leading the marchers were International Mr. Leather (IML) 2019 Jack Thompson, the first transgender Person of Color to hold the title; International Ms Leather 2019 Haley Alice; and Leatherwoman of Color 2019 Marialuisa Garcia. Many marchers helped to carry the huge Leather Pride flag created in South Africa and lent to New York by Philadelphia Leather Pride Night Producer Cowboi Jen. Still others rode the Eagle NYC truck. Members of Mama Sandy Reinhardt's Family, members of ONYX, a plethora of current Leather, Rubber, Bear, and Puppy titleholders, and some fabulous Queens were in attendance..
SouthEast LeatherFest
SouthEast LeatherFest named the winners of its contests which were held in Atlanta, GA the weekend of June 13-16. Southwest Bootblack is mycalyne, Southeast Master and slave are Luke and dynamic and Southeast Person of Leather is Idris Dior. Besides the contests, there were over 50 workshops, play parties and socials. Goddess Sadie Hawkins was presented the Jack Stice Memorial Community Service Award. The web site states, "We are kinksters and Leatherfolk, old and new, from the Southeast and beyond. For over 20 years, SELF has welcomed diverse people with positive perspectives regarding sexual identity, BDSM, kink, non-exploitive power exchange relationships and self exploration." Southeast Leatherfest 2020 will be held June 11-14 in Atlanta.

San Diego Pride - Leather Realm
In 20+ years, the San Diego Leather Realm has grown to become a 24,000+ square-foot lushly-landscaped, age-restricted area of The San Diego Pride Festival in Balboa Park. The Leather Realm opens for 16+ hours of education and fun, hosting nearly 10k attendees during the annual two-day Festival. Realm hours run from 11 AM to 8 PM Saturday, June 13 and 11 AM to 6 PM Sunday, July 14. Leather Realm is a group of cross-community and club volunteers dedicated to providing visibility, awareness and communication of Safe, Sane and Consensual play, Leather, BDSM, Fetish, and Kink Life Styles through hands-on demonstration areas, workshops, community organizations, and alternative lifestyle friendly businesses. San Diego's Pride parade will be Saturday and will lead in to the Pride Festival.

Thunder in the Mountains
Thunder in the Mountains will be held July 25-28 at the Westin Westminster in Westminster, Colorado. Almost 30 vendors have signed on. Thunder in the Mountains boasts a 50,000 square foot, well-equipped dungeon and will have offer another full day of classes as well as naked yoga classes, bootblacking and massage stations. The workshops and presenters, and schedule have not been posted yet, but it is a safe bet that many high-quality instructors will be back.

West Coast Olympus Leather
The first regional for the International Mr., Ms and Mx Olympus Leather 2020 contest was held at the Barracks in Cathedral City, CA the weekend of June 28-30 with Wilson Raiser besting one other contestant to win the title. There were no Ms or Mx contestants. The other contestant was David C Madrid. Head judge was Bill Willis with Adam Latham, Persephone di Stefano, Myles Ramos, Jody Mitchell and Erik Thomas filling out the panel. Activities included Cogs and Corsets, and Steampunk Gear Fest on Friday night, the contest on Saturday nigh and a closing victory beer bust on Sunday afternoon.
FLSb-FCBB - Leather Pride Cruise
FLSb-FCBB will host its Fourth Annual Leather Pride Cruise which sails Friday, July 19 from Smoker Family Park in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Tickets on sale now at both LeatherWerks locations or online. Tickets are $45 each including free bar, open-air Cigar Deck, live DJ, kinkster-passed hors d’ oeuvres, black jack and roulette. Meet your 2019 FLSb-FCBB titleholders. The Knight Hawks of Virginia were honored as as Best LGBT Social Group in a Readers' Poll held by Outwire757, a Hampton Roads/Norfolk, VA area publication that focuses in the local LGBT community. The Knight Hawks were voted by readers to be the Best Social Group, for the third year in a row.

The 15 Association at Up Your Alley
The Up Your Alley street fair (Dore Alley) is coming up and The 15 Association will host a Dore Play Party on Saturday night, July 27 and will host a public Dore Outdoor Dungeon on Sunday, July 28 during the street fair. The Saturday night party at Catalyst SF is by private invitation only - find a club member to find out more. Sunday is public where floggings and whippings will abound. International Puppy and Handler
International Puppy and Handler Weekend is July 25-28 at the Waterfront Hotel and Conference Center in Indianapolis, IN.
