Leather at NYC’s 49th Annual Pride March

New York City Held its 49th annual LGBTQ Pride March, organized by Heritage of Pride to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion, when police invaded Stonewall Inn, a gay hangout on Christopher Street, in Greenwich Village, now a national monument, and the community fought back. Leather was very much in evidence at the March and, participating in my 48th, I joined the Eagle NYC contingent and boarded the truck for current Leather, bear, and puppy titleholders and their friends. In front of the truck, marchers carried the huge Leather Pride Flag, made in South Africa by Johann Jooste, and lent to us by Philadelphia Leather Pride Night producer Cowboi Jen.

International Ms Olympus Leather 2017 Pixie Mary represented the Olympus Leather Family in the Leather Tent on June 9 during Dyke Day LA. Ms West Coast Olympus 2016 and Olympus International 2017 started off the Leather Tent activities explaining what it takes to run for a title. Whether it’s Mr., Ms or Mx, Olympus encourages folks to run for any category they feel represents them. All are welcome to join in. Mary was followed by workshops by the Pleasure Chest and a play hour hosted by Obsidian.

Miss Cassie Rope Bondage Classes

Miss Cassie Rope Bondage Classes are held every Wednesday at the Lair de Sade in North Hollywood with next month's on July 4, 11, 18 and 25, 8-10 PM and are $10 per person. Miss Cassie teaches a variety of ties and tailors her classes according to the needs of her students. She does teach a lot of bondage basics and a bit about safety, but mostly we just tie and practice all sorts of ties. She often introduces new ties and more advanced ties. The Cruise will be on Saturday, September 29 at Pier 40 on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, CA. Check in 4:30 PM, departs 5:30 PM. We will travel under the Bay Bridge, pass Angel Island and Treasure Island, Sausalito, Alcatraz Island, Golden Gate Bridge to see the bridge and the city of San Francisco at sundown.
