San Francisco Leather Alliance Weekend - The contest

Jawn Marques bested five other men to become Mr. San Francisco Leather 2019 and Allison Boots earned enough points to win the San Francisco Bootblack title at the SOMA Arts Cultural Center on Saturday night, March 2. The first runner-up was Amp Somers and the second runner-up was Alpha Pup Gunner. The Leather Heart Award went to Amp Somers. The Mr. SF Leather judges were Bamm Bamm, Annie Blue, Al Rahm, Keao Lani, Erick Lopez, Trey Onyx and IML 2018 James Lee; and the SF Bootblack judges were Lucky Ordaz, Ryan “Pawlish” Garner-Carpenter and Marlene Hoeber. The weekend included the contest, 53rd Annual San Francisco Leather Awards, a meet and greet at Mr. S Leather, Hog Wild dance party at SF Oasis, Stank - Leather Lust at the Powerhouse, a Friday night Release: Open Play Party at SF Catalyst. Saturday included a variety of classes and a vendor fair at SOMA Arts Cultural Center, Leather Brunch at The Willows and a closing men's play party. The weekend concluded with a beer bust at the SF Eagle on Sunday afternoon.
Mx Virginia Leather
Sclena Young is the first Virginia MX Leather titleholder. Virginia Mx Leather Contest is all-inclusive regardless of gender or sexual identity. The contest was held March 1-3 at Fallout RVA. Events included a contestants and judges meet and greet, demos, bootblacks, go go dancers and vendors. The first Mx. Virginia Leather event drew hundreds of people from as far away as Texas, Maine and California. Six people ran for the title, at least half of whom identified as nonbinary, gender-fluid, trans, or gender-nonconforming.

SAGE honors Mistress Cyan
Mistress Cyan and Diane Goodman were honored on Saturday, March 2 by SAGE and Friends LA in Los Angeles, CA at the home of LGBT ally Kathleen Garfield. The reception celebrated and honored local LGBT trailblazers, Mistress Cyan and Diane M. Goodman, JD, PhD. Kathleen’s Brentwood home offers a vast collection of artwork, primarily comprised of works by Los Angeles area artists from the early 1950s through the 1990s. SAGE CEO Michael Adams shared updates from SAGE and Friends LA's work in Southern California and nationwide.

Puppypalooza raises $623 for ASPCA
The Southern California independent pet play contest, Puppypalooza, was a howling success as it closed its fifth year raising $623 for the ASPCA. The judges were Pulgoso, Pup Dazzle, and Pup Apollo. Kasia, one of the Inland Empire Leather Ambassadors, was time-keeper and tally master. Tony Bark LA Pup 2019 was the emcee and created the event for The Los Angeles Pony and Critters Club. There was a total of seven events and the grand winners were Titus the Hell-Hound - Best in Show and High Point Award, Nikki the kitten - Best in Show, non-pup category, Mistress Wiley - Best Handler, and Ace the pup - Audience Choice Award.

San Francisco Leather Alliance Weekend - The awards
The 53rd Annual San Francisco Leather Awards were presented on Friday night at the SOMA Arts Cultural Center in San Francisco, CA. In total, 20 awards were persented with emcees Allotta Boute and Lance Holman presiding over the show. The top level award recipients were Non-Binary Person of the Year - Leigh Ann Hildebrand, Woman of the Year - Dorian Katz, Jim Remer Unsung Hero Award - Andrew Coile, Man of the Year (Tie) Trey Onyx and Christopher Wood, Frank Benoit Award - Ryan Mattson, Phillip M. Erotic City - Rainbow Skate Night
The LGBTQ community came together at the Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, California for a night of roller skating fun on Wednesday February 20 to benefit Erotic City which is produced by CSW, the non-profit organization that produces LA Pride. This was a fundraiser with about 125 Erotic City guests mixed among the regular crowd.

Steve Kenney passes
Past Centaur Motorcycle Club president Steve Kenney passed away on February 26. "It’s with a heavy heart and tearful eyes that we announce the passing of our club brother Steve Kenny. He passed at 6:48 this morning with his husband Rick at his side." said Centaur MC president Thomas Idoux. Steve touched the hearts of many and we are sorry to hear of his passing. MAFIA Club Night
MAFIA's monthly Club Nights are held the first Friday of each month at Touche' Chicago, 6412 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL from 10 PM until 1 AM. The next two dates are April 5 and May 3. The 15 Association - Play Party
The 15 Association will hold its March 22 monthly Play Party at Catalyst, 1060 Folsom Street, starting at 7 PM with doors closing at 10 PM. This active club holds their monthly meetings on the third Wednesday at MCC Las Vegas at 7 PM. The next date is March 20.
