Texas Governor Democratic Primary sees Jeffrey Payne fall short
After a valiant and vigorous effort, the Jeffrey Payne campaign for Texas Governor fell short of the votes needed to get in a runoff. Campaign Manager Christopher Edwards said, "Although we did not garner the result we had hoped for, we did succeed at changing the conversation among the lead candidates with our policies and we are incredibly proud of our whole campaign team for their talent and their tireless effort." The top two placers were Lupe Valdez with 42.89 percent of the vote and Andrew White with 27.37 percent. Payne received a total of 44,825 vote or 4.75 percent. These totals are with 100-percent of the 7,694 precincts reporting. Source - Office of the Secretary of State of Texas. This was Payne's first run for a political office.

There were six Mr. contestants and three Bootblack contenders. The San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance produced the Leather Alliance Weekend, March 2-4, which included the 52nd Annual Community Awards, 36th edition of the Mr. SF Leather contest, vendor fair, auctions, entertainment, education and several new things. Snowbound Leather Weekend

The 11th Annual Snowbound Leather Weekend was held in Provincetown, MA February 23-25 and was a great success with about 200 Leathermen in town. Billed as A Winter Getaway with a Twist, Snowbound concluded with the announcement of Mr. Snowbound 2018 Nick Jamison of Barre VT, who brought in the most donations with his winter/Leather-themed photo. The event overall raised $1,906 for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, a Snowbound record. The Cleveland Puppy 2018 was won by Eric "pup Axel" Hill at the Leather Stallion Saloon in Cleveland, OH. Friday, March 16 from 4-5 PM is the Leather Pride Flag Raising, followed by the opening ceremonies for San Diego Leather Pride Weekend and a blessing by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence This will the first time to meet the contestants for this years Mr. and Ms San Diego Leather, and San Diego Boot Black 2018 contest.
