International Olympus Leather 2019 - Three winners in Chicago
International Olympus Leather was held in Chicago, Illinois May 3-5 with Rayna kitten becoming International Ms Olympus Leather 2019, Ferris Oxide chosen to be International Mx Olympus Leather 2019 and Randal boy glovez named International Mr. Olympus Leather 2019. 11 International Olympus Leather Alumni were in attendance. Head judge Fred Anderson won the Leather Rhodes Service Award. West Coast Olympus Leather Producer Anthony Harmon passed the West Coast Producers torch to Rayna kitten and Mina Fatale. Anthony Harmon was named International Olympus Leather Contest Producer and Vonn Tramel announced she would be focusing her efforts on the expansion and administrative efforts. Karen Ultra emceed and lit up the stage in a neon-orange dress and blonde wig.
Mayor of Folsom Street: The Life and Legacy of Alan Selby - Exhibition Opening
Mayor of Folsom Street: The Life and Legacy of Alan Selby exhibit will be open Thursday, May 16, 7pm — September 30 at the GLBT Historical Society San Francisco, an Associate Member of The 15 Association, also known as Mr. S, who opened the iconic Leather and kink retail store Mr. S Leather in the SoMa district in 1979. Curated by Jordy Jones, Jeremy Prince, and Gayle Rubin, and drawing on the Alan Selby papers preserved in the archives, this transdisciplinary exhibition situates Selby’s life within the context of a changing SoMa neighborhood, AIDS charity, and the emergence of a district queer Leather and kink culture. Northwest Leather Celebration

The Northwest Leather Celebration, held May 3-5 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sacramento in Sacramento, CA was the place where Master Rook and slave rook were chosen to be Northwest Master slave 2019 and Bri Burning became Northwest Person of Leather 2019. Northwest Leather Celebration announced that minimum points were not achieved in the 2019 Northwest Bootblack Contest and therefore no title was awarded. Master Ben was the Sunday brunch keynote speaker. Northwest Leather Celebration had the usual workshops, classes, social, play parties and vendors and was well-attended.

Carter Jonson Leather Library - Brick and mortar is open
The long-awaited opening of the physical space to house the rapidly-growing collection that makes up the Carter-Johnson Leather Library opened in Evansville, Indiana on Saturday, April. The linked video below shows Vi Johnson's opening remarks. For several years the Library has had a powerful exhibits at events such as International Mr. Leather, Southwest Leather Conference and Philadelphia Leather Pride.

Golden Gate Guards - Golden Dildeaux Awards

$4,136 was raised for the Positive Resource Center at the 47th Annual Golden Dildeaux Awards Saturday, April,27. Long Beach Pride Parade - Leather and Kink Contingent will play a big role in the Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. The festival will be open both days and the parade on Sunday morning. For the parade, the Leather Contingent is going to meet on the corner of Ocean and Paloma between 9-11 AM. Leather will again have a strong presence in the parade and festival with a special tent which will include Avatar, New Horizons and others. PIGS will have a beer bust at Eagle 562 on Sunday afternoon following the parade.

Leather Dog Pound was created to include a pup event in the Los Angeles Leather Pride festivities. This year LA Pup 2019 Tony Bark hosted a raffle with items donated by Oxballs. He also raffled off the very first Official Dog Pound harness by Gearworxxx. The Off Sunset Puppy Olympics OSPO are a series of athletic games for human pups and pets was thrown during the Off Sunset Festival. Los Angeles Puppy Pride and Los Angeles Pup Contest will be a three-day festival for human pups, handlers and the people that love them the weekend of November 9-11 at several venues.

On, Sunday April 28th, Bears LA held their Second Annual Mac and Cheese Cook Off at Eagle 562 in Long beach, CA. The event was hosted by Mr. LA Leather Bear 2019 Eric De Leon. There were 10 contestants: Shawn Lykos Onyx Jenkins, Eric Crow, Pup Beacon, Aric Wilson, Bill Kale, Jason Blais Simarano, Master Gary, Andrew Anderson, Aaron Humberto Cruz and James Fields, who brought delicious Mac and Cheese concoctions making it very hard for the patrons and judges to choose. The winners of the competition were Master Gary, Pup Beacon and Andrew Anderson from Spicy Kitchen.

Empire City MC - 55th Anniversary Week-Long Road Trip
Every five years, Empire City MC celebrates one of their milestone anniversaries. On our 40th, they went to the Green Mountains and White Mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. On their 50th, they went to Deal’s Gap, NC to ride the Tail of the dragon. 2019 is Empire City MC's 55th year, and we’re continuing our tradition – this year, Empire City MC will be going to Provincetown, MA the week September 7-15.

The Visibility Project

Phase one of The Visibility Project launched in 2017 on the principle that Diversity, Representation, Visibility and Inclusion must be perpetual efforts in our communities to ensure an equitable space for all. Beginning with a mission to provide visibility through display of identity flags of all in our communities launched the project. The Visibility Project has supplied flags to over 30 events in the past year with many more scheduled. Phase two (launching in 2019) seeks to provide scholarships to minority-identified Leatherfolk to be visible, representative and included in events otherwise beyond their reach so that they may share their knowledge and experiences and bring back those to their own home communities. 501c3 status is pending and a website will be launching soon.

DomCon: LA 2019 has opened and all signals point to record crowds and more vendors that before. DomCon: LA will be at the Hilton LAX May 8-12 for their 13th year in a row. The world's largest Professional Domination Convention will have a formal dinner on Thursday night, May 9 and a huge Bondage Ball at the Sanctuary Studios LAX on Saturday night. Wednesday and Thursday had special classes and events focused on the pro dommes and Friday though Sunday will feature a broader range of topics for the entire kink world.
Leather Uniform Club Las Vegas monthly events
This active club holds their monthly meetings on the third Wednesday at MCC Las Vegas at 7 PM. The next dates are May 15 and June 19.
