Sociologists Reclassify BDSM As “Leisure Activity” In Bid To Remove Stigma

In a bid to remove the stigma surrounding BDSM sexual practice, sociologists are attempting to reclassify it as a “leisure activity” akin to golf. I don’t know about you, but I think I’m playing golf wrong. The researchers, led by Idaho State University, wanted to build on recent studies that suggested instead of a traditional psychopathologic explanation, BDSM (bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism) could be understood as a potential leisure activity. BLUF Chicago celebrated 20th Anniversary

The Breeches and Leather Uniform Fan club of Chicago celebrated BLUF club’s 20th Anniversary on Saturday November 18 at Touché. BLUF started as an internet club in October 1997 in Montreal, Canada by Leon with a few friends. Today the club is based in London, England with Nigel as its webmaster with almost 4,000 members. BLUF has regular events in 16 cities and won a Pantheon of Leather Award in 2008. Members adhere to a strict dress code to join and to attend member only events. It's time to put up the holiday décor at Leather64TEN with their Santa window display. The Santa figurines which have been featured in the Leather64TEN window display have been collected in a span of 50-plus years by store owner Eric Kugleman. Five years ago he decided "Why not share my collection of Santa figurines with the community so everyone can enjoy it for the holiday season, Let's make a window display at the store with every single figurine." The store created their first Santa window display in 2013 and it received rave reviews and comments from everyone passing by and it has now become a tradition to be seen. Vincent Tiley, one of the Fire Island Artist Residency 2017 artists, originally from West Virginia and living in Brooklyn, has created a new painting, incorporating black leather; rope, which he painted black; and acrylic, called “Mr. Leather Man,” after the original name of the Mr. Fire Island Leather title and contest, changed after the first year, 2001. He presented the work, which measures approximately 14” by 13” to this writer, Mr. Fire Island Leather (Man) 2001, at Junior’s restaurant, in downtown Brooklyn, on November 17.

Reacting to reports of out-in-the-open porn viewing, public sex, drug use and theft at city libraries, a pair of City Council leaders is proposing to tighten the rules at these sanctuaries for children, the elderly and book nerds. If you come up with a date and basic information on a new event, please send us the date and a short detail or two. This is designed for the web site and less so for print, so there is no 45 days-in-advance deadline. If your event is happening on November 15, make sure I have it by Monday afternoon, November 6.

Things to send:
1. Short article of about 75 words. So what if you are a few over. Just don't turn it into a Russian novel.

2. Photo or two. Landscape preferred. Must be a jpg. Taken with cellphone is fine. Please supply photo credit.

3. Link to a working site. Web site is preferential, Facebook still works.

4. Five "W's" - Who, what, when, why and where. All are important.

5. Please be concise. In news, verbosity is not a virtue; it is an editor's nightmare.

Style sheet stuff
When listing titleholders we use the title followed by the person's name - International Mr. Leather 1993 Henri ten Have, not Henri ten Have. One would say President Obama, not Obama, President. Less punctuation makes an easier read.
