Put Your Toys Away and Build Your BDSM Skills
By Dr. Gloria Brame
I’m not saying there’s something wrong with toys. Heaven forefend. I would never ever tell you to get rid of them. Not the fragile latex that makes you glitter and shine, not the gleaming leather whip that makes you swoon nor the coldly glimmering cuffs and clamps that make sex so intense. Keep those favorite joy toys that make your juices flow and cherish them. Read the rest at https://www.gloriabrame.com/put-your-toys-away-and-build-your-bdsm-skills/

How dare he?
By Hardy Haberman and Dallas Voice
Listening to a conversation between some minor party officials at a recent Democratic Party event, I heard someone ask, “How dare he run for governor?” I knew they were speaking about a man I count as my friend, a man of unquestioned integrity....I always thought integrity was a pretty good attribute to have as a political candidate, or at least as far as any candidate I’d ever vote for. Take a look at https://www.dallasvoice.com/how-dare-he-10245367.html

Turns Out Gay Marriage Among Pirates Was Way More Common Than You'd Ever Think
By Melissa Sartore for ranker.com
Ahoy mate! This common pirate phrase may mean more than you realize! Pirates are known for eye patches, walking the plank, and collecting booty, but there are more pirate traditions than you might be aware of, like the fact that same-sex relationships were quite common among the pirates of the Caribbean. Matelotage was a gay marriage of sorts practiced by male pirates from the seventeenth century. Some of the most successful pirates had relationships with other men as a means of companionship and protection. Having a mate was both a personal and professional arrangement for a pirate - and the word 'mate' itself is probably a holdover from the institution of matelotage. Dave Rhodes Christmas, Hanukkah and Holiday List
Dave Rhodes Christmas, Hanukkah and Holiday List will appear on http://www.TheLeatherJournal.com right before Thanksgiving. Due to space constrictions, the annual column did not appear in thre November- December print version of The Leather Journal. Several other stories missed out, too. We are getting much more material than we can print and in a way that is a good thing. Often publications have to dream up copy to fill a publication. This is like it was in the early days of The Leather Journal. We had enough content for a 28 page Issue. Revenue dictated keeping The Leather Journal at the same size as it has been at for the last nine years.

How you can include your information on Dave Rhodes' Hump Day
If you come up with a date and basic information on a new event, please send us the date and a short detail or two. This is designed for the web site and less so for print, so there is no 45 days-in-advance deadline. If your event is happening on November 15, make sure I have it by Monday afternoon, November 6.
Things to send:
1. Short article of about 75 words. So what if you are a few over. Just don't turn it into a Russian novel.
2. Photo or two. Landscape preferred. Must be a jpg. Taken with cellphone is fine. Please supply photo credit.
3. Link to a working site. Web site is preferential, Facebook still works.
4. Five "W's" - Who, what, when, why and where. All are important.
5. Please be concise. In news, verbosity is not a virtue; it is an editor's nightmare.
Style sheet stuff. When listing titleholders we use the title followed by the person's name - International Mr. Leather 1993 Henri ten Have, not Henri ten Have. One would say President Obama, not Obama, President and less punctuation.
We're getting more photos - join the club. Send yours to us. If a news item comes in which we feel should also be a larger article we will contact you about it. Send to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Photos need to be jpg format.
Please share us on social media!
