Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend, March 21-23, San Antonio

By December 09, 2013

fb WebDuring the weekend of March 21-23, San Antonio, TX will be host to its first weekend-long Leather and Fetish event. The Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend is a continuation of the Alamo City Leather and Fetish Ball, which occurred last March. The prior event was an evening-long party and show which took place at the Silver Dollar Saloon, and included several demonstrations by local and visiting kinksters, including hook suspension and stapling, as well as individual performances.

The Ball was so successful that it seemed only fitting to expand the event to encompass an entire weekend, while adding contests, classes, more vendors, and a Sunday brunch to the itinerary. The host hotel is the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel next to the San Antonio Airport. For early arrivals, the hospitality suite will be open in the afternoon, and there will be an unofficial “meet-n-greet” and early check-in held that evening at The Annex. Check-in will also be held throughout the day on Friday in the hospitality suite.

The real Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend fun begins Friday evening with a Fetish Contest at Silver Dollar Saloon. The contest is open to any contestant, regardless of gender or orientation. The competition will include best fetish representation within the community and a live fantasy acted out on stage.

ACLFW2 Web BThe judges will be Southwest slave 2013 elizabeth, Mr. Austin Gears 2013 Jim Moran, Mr. Third Coast Gears 2013 Michael Wilkesen, Gulf Coast Community Bootblack 2014 Brooklyn Davenport, and Midwest Puppy 2012 Pup Hercules. The winner of the event will receive a cash prize and a patch for their Leathers. Also during intermissions, there will be live performances and demonstrations from the local and visiting kink community.

During the day on Saturday, there will be classes planned in 1 ½ hour increments that will provide fun and education. These will be held at the host hotel, and the hospitality suite will also be available during that time. There will also be a puppy mosh, as well as a roundtable Leather discussion panel with key members open to all in attendance.

Vendors will be displaying and selling their wares at both the hotel and venue during Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend. Shuttles will be on hand to bring run members back to the Silver Dollar Saloon for the Mr. Alamo City Leather 2014 contest, which is a direct feeder to the International Mr. Leather contest held in Chicago. This will be the first Leather title to come out of San Antonio, and will provide the winner with a travel fund, donated prizes, patch, and Leather stole.

Last year’s hostesses Lawna Jocqui and Lipps LaRue will again be on the mic to emcee the event. Judges for the Leather contest will include Mr. Third Coast Leather 2013 Austin Able, Oklahoma Mr. Leather 2013 Nate Benner, Mr. Texas Leather 2013 Bobby Thurman, Mr. Heartland Leather 2014 Michael Pup Ryker Kaplan, Mr. Louisiana Leather 2013 Bill Naquin, Southwest Master 2013 Master Todd, and Miss Tyesha Banks, editor at Leatherati.com. Immediately following the competition will be a Victory Party in the Hospitality Suite and a play party at a remote location. On Sunday, there will be a relaxing brunch with a guest speaker at the host hotel.

ACLFW WebThe Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend began as a promise by Mr. Third Coast Leather 2012 Steven Parker to bring more Leather and fetish exposure to San Antonio. During preparation and planning for the Ball held in March 2013, it became clear to Parker that there was a pre-existing Leather and kink community in the city, but it was diverse and disconnected. His hope is that by creating the Alamo City Leather and Fetish Weekend, the groups will come together to celebrate their similar passions for kink, to network, and to share information. Parker is the Vice-President of the San Antonio Gear Enthusiasts (SAGE), a group that has played a crucial role in assisting with the production of the event. Pup Garmr, collared pup of Parker, has also been a major contributor of assistance with the planning and organization of the event.

Beneficiaries receiving proceeds from the jock and silent auctions will be the San Antonio Aids Foundation and Mr. Friendly organization.
