Happy Holidays - A look at the last 20 years - Flash Back Gallery

This week I have scoured my photo file of the last 20 years and have come up with about 25 or so gems I think you will like. Most of these are from Southern California with clubs such as Avatar Club Los Angeles' Wreath Auctions and Krampus, Regiment of the Black and Tans with Toast to the Season, Satyrs MC Anniversary parties after Thanksgiving, ONYX Southwest, California B&B Corps with their parties at the Tom of Finland House, San Diego clubs combined party, and the Tom of Finland Foundation's huge bash complete with professional carolers and Muscle-bound Santa Claus.

A King Without A Kingdom

By Rodney Burger

On February 28th I was on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It was a beautiful Friday evening and the bars in Wilton Manors, the popular gayborhood, were hopping. I had enjoyed happy hour at Hunter’s and was having dinner at the Garden Café across the street next to the Eagle Wilton Manors, when I saw Mr. DC Eagle 2020 Justin Sawyers walk by the window. I had been to the Mr. and Ms. DC Eagle 2020 Contest in November and had seen Justin at other events since then. After dinner, I was happy to greet him and several other Leather titleholders who I knew who were also in town and checking out the newest Eagle bar. It was a magical evening that now seems a lifetime ago.

Flash Back Gallery - American Brotherhood Weekend

American Brotherhood Weekend began in Boston circa 1991 and has moved around the country to cities including Washington, DC, New Orleans and Chicago where it currently resides. Regardless of where ABW is held, the organization has developed a strong sense of Leather Family. American Brotherhood Weekend is a celebration of the bond of Leather families. It is a weekend filled with great energy and camaraderie which surround the three title contests that comprise ABW and the American Leather family. Plans are to hold the next American Brotherhood Weekend in the middle of July next year. We have pored through our files and a couple other places to share these photos with you. Scroll down to see.

DomCon - Atlanta and New Orleans - Flash Back Gallery

We take a look back as far as 2009 at DomCon: Atlanta and New Orleans which is produced by Mistress Cyan of Sanctuary Studios LAX. Atlanta/New Orleans was developed not long after the original held at the Hilton LAX in Los Angeles, CA. The New Orleans/Atlanta event draws between 650 and 775 pansexual guests while the main voyage draws over 1,500 to the largest pro domme convention in the world. DomCon features around 50-75 workshops, demos and classes, numerous socials including a Mistresses' High Tea, a Saturday night debaucherous Fetish Ball, a large vendor fair, play parties, and special entertainment. Early registrants, Wednesday through Thursday, get pro dom-oriented events then the mad rush on Fridays and beyond have more general BDSM convention fare added to the vast mix. Both Dom Con: LA in May and Dom Con: New Orleans were virtual events on Zoom with the same large draw the real conventions have enjoyed. This convention has some of the most loyal supporters who would give almost everything to not miss one of the conventions. Scroll down for photos and link.

Palm Springs Leather Pride - Flash Back Gallery

We take a look back as far as 2000 at Palm Springs Leather Pride which is produced by the Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert. Many on the west coast consider Palm Springs Leather Pride to be the Mid Atlantic Leather of the West. Both events are produced by a club and both events are huge with the center of activities being Leather contests with a who's who of Leather in attendance. Each have food with Leather Cocktails on the Saturday night in the nation's capitol and a huge formal Leather dinner on Friday night in the California desert. Both have satellite events such as cocktail parties, bar nights, vendors. Take a look at the almost 50 photos from Palm Springs that The Leather Journal has for your pleasure. Se who you recognize. Scroll down to see.

Mates Leather Weekend

While the official Mates Leather Weekend scheduled for the first weekend of October had been cancelled, a group of friends got together for a Mini Mates Leather Weekend at the Watership Inn in Provincetown, MA. Scroll down to see our Flash Back gallery of Mates Leather Weekends of the past. The event has raised approximately $75,000 for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod since it was founded in 2000. Mates Leather Weekend is a kick-back, have a good time, meet some hot new friends weekend for those who want to hang out, socialize, relax or party with other like-minded people in Leather, Rubber and Uniforms. Mates Leather Weekend is produced by Rick Conley, longtime Provincetown resident and Leatherman. "I want to thank all MLW sponsors, friends and past participants who have contributed to the success of Mates Leather Weekend. I’m grateful for all the new friends that I’ve made along the way." While it is sad that Mates Leather Weekend was cancelled, Snowbound Leather Weekend XIV is still planned for February 19-21.
