Christopher Street West names new officers

By November 14, 2013

CSW Square LogoChristopher Street West, the non-profit organization that produces the annual LA Pride celebration in West Hollywood, CA, announced its 2014 officers. At CSW's annual Board retreat, Co-Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer were elected for the upcoming Pride season and will assume their roles beginning December 1.

Leading the Board of Directors, Co-Presidents, Patti DiLuigi and Steve Ganzell will share the responsibilities formerly overseen by Rodney Scott. DiLuigi has been on the Board since 2003 most recently serving as VP of Festival Operations while Ganzell joined the Board in 2006 and has served as VP of Administration and chair of Erotic City.

The all-volunteer Board of Directors of CSW has been helmed by Board President Rodney Scott for the past 12 years. During Scott's tenure, the organization has increased its efforts to bring more diversity and inclusion within the celebration and offer something for everyone. Under Scott's leadership, the organization created Latino Carnival, the Friday Night Purple Celebration of Women and Momentum, the Art and Culture Pavilion.

"Rodney Scott has been such an integral part in driving this organization to create one of the best Pride celebrations in the country and Patti and I are honored to continue to work alongside him at Christopher Street West," said Ganzell. "Rodney has volunteered countless hours to this organization, and to the greater LGBT community, and has focused his goals of making the celebration one that honors diversity and pioneers issues of equality," said DiLuigi.

Scott will remain on the Board of Directors as President Emeritus overseeing Board Development and other long-term strategic initiatives. "I'm truly honored to have served as President of CSW and I look forward to continuing my work on the Board.  With the 45th anniversary of Stonewall and CSW right around the corner, the next few years will bring great energy and excitement to our very diverse and eclectic community," said Scott.

Assuming the role of Board Secretary is Jason Roundy. Roundy joined CSW's Board in 2009 and served as VP of Administration.  Roundy assumes the role from Sue Sexton who remains an active member of the Board and has been instrumental in producing the Parade Broadcast, the Purple Celebration and archiving the organization's history.

Continuing as Board Treasurer is Norman Waddell, who joined the organization in 2011.

Steve Ganzell is a past chairman of the Los Angeles Leather Coalition. The LALC produces the Mr. Los Angeles Leather contest.

LA Pride celebration will be held June 6-8.

About Christopher Street West

For over 40 years, Christopher Street West (CSW) has produced LA Pride, a series of events celebrating the accomplishments of the LGBT community and shedding light on its continued struggle for equality. A year after the modern lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender liberation movement was launched by the mob-led rebellion at the Stonewall Inn on New York's Christopher Street in June 1969, activists in Los Angeles' community came together to honor the rebellion with the world's first Pride Parade in Hollywood, CA. Today, the organization continues to promote equality and diversity amongst the LGBT community and its peers with a three-day event held in West Hollywood, CA. The non-profit organization is comprised of volunteers committed to the goals of human rights, education and outreach.
