The Folsom Street Fair, held Sunday, September 23, had the usual crowd of about 400,000 with perhaps a higher percentage of kinky people than in recent years. The usual vendors and clubs were on hand, the was a Mama's Family photo shoot on Dore Alley, the bars were packed, Stompers Boots party had its followers and Ken Hedrick of Stompers Boots reported very strong sales, The 15 Association, Exiles, Janus, Golden Gate Guards, Alameda County Leather Corps and God knows how many clubs had booths or members volunteering at others. The San Francisco Bare Chest Calendar men were signing 2013 calendars, puppies played, there were two or three wrestling clubs doing their thing, the pony and critter clubs were on 10th Street. It was a little chillier than usual with some wearing jackets by 4 PM. It was another successful street party in San Francisco.
Donna Sachet's pre-Folsom party was hot with the who's who of Leather there.

The Rubber Men of San Francisco presented a Rubber Pride flag to the San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance at the Center for Sex and Culture. Alliance chair Patrick Mulcahey gave a rousing speech about the acceptance of rubber/latex and how it has not always been that way.
There was a Leather titleholders meet and greet that was lightly attended at the Center for Sex and Culture.
The biggest party before Folsom Street Fair Sunday was Magnitude, the official Saturday night dance with DJs Jack Chang and Ted Eiel at 525 Harrison Street.
The Fair stretched a path of Folsom Street between Seventh and 12th Streets.
DEVIANTS, the official closing party of the Folsom Street Fair was at the Public Works, presented in association with Honey Soundsystem and Hard French.
The Save the SF Eagle victory party in the parking lot across from the SF Eagle was a blast with live Rock n' Roll bands playing. The SF Eagle will reopen thanks to owners. Mike Leon and Lex Montiel - and a Leather community which put its collective foot down, wanting to stop the exodus of Leather from the South Of MArket (SOMA).
The traveling exhibit of the Jill Carter and Viola Johnson Leather Library was open for viewing at the Center for Sex and Culture from Monday through Sunday night after the Folsom Street Fair was over. Viola Johnson was on hand and Women's International Leather Legacy 2011 Tracy Wolf was there the whole time. Between 225 and 250 Leatherfolk visited the exhibit which noted artifacts going back to the 1600s. It had maybe 10 percent of what is kept and maintained near Philadelphia, PA.
It was yet another great Folsom Weekend and San Francisco Leather Pride Week.
The Central Canada Olympus Leather 2012 contest with the theme of Radio BDSM 69.9 FM: Spank You for the Music was held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, August 25 with Jean Taillifer, the lone contestant, garnering enough points to win the title. Central Canada Olympus Leather was held during Ottawa Gay and Lesbian Pride weekend which saw a festival and parade on Sunday, August 26. The Ottawa Knights had a booth in the festival at Ottawa's City Hall to promote their Mr. Ottawa Leather contest which is held the second weekend of November. Numerous titleholders from all over Ontario and Quebec were in the parade.
The judges were The Leather Journal publisher and editor Dave Rhodes, Zelda Marshall, Mr. Central Canada Olympus Leather 2011 Count Jeff, Ms Central Canada Olympus Leather 2011 Bad School Girl and Miss Jenn of Breathless. The tally mistress was Sherryl Townsend. The Central Canada Olympus Leather 2012 contest was held at Swizzles on Queen Street.
The emcee was Alex Wisniowski who also produced the contest. Several awards were given out and there were several short fantasies and skits to entertain the crowd. The evening featured a Kinky Cabaret, a show with skits and other entertainment. This was the same weekend that Ottawa held its GLBT pride parade and festival.
Last year, Count Jeff and Bad School Girl competed for the two separate regional titles. They are a married couple, and as such were the first to compete in an International competition in May in Los Angeles, CA.
Robert Miller, is Mr. Leatherman Toronto 2012, Youkali, is the new Ms Leather Toronto and Peter Rex is the new Mr. Rubber Toronto. The competitions were held on Saturday, August 11, at the Phoenix Concert Theatre.
First runner-up for the MLT 2012 title went to Mr. Cedar's Leather Mike Dawson and second runner-up was awarded to Mr. Steamworks David Knott. Robert Miller, who was sponsored by the Black Eagle Toronto, was also awarded the Mr. Leatherman Toronto Brotherhood Award. The Ms Leather Toronto runner-up was Dana aka Black Orchid. The Heart of the Flag Federation Inc. (HOTF) announced the appointment of Peter Rex as its new Mr. Rubber Toronto 2013.

Spanning four days, the Toronto Leather Pride 2012 weekend started with a welcome reception at Northbound Leather on Thursday, August 9, and ended with the Late Night Cigar Party at the Toronto Black Eagle on Sunday, August 12.
The charity of choice for 2011 – 2012 was The 519 Church Street Community Centre.
