David Nelson December 23, 1961 - April 28, 2016

David Nelson passed away at his home in Atlanta on April 28, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn C. Nelson. David leaves behind his mother, Carolyn Nelson, brother, Jeff Nelson and sister-in-law, Dolores Nelson.

He was born on December 22, 1961 in Knoxville, TN. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1984 and went on to earn an MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University in 1994. David enjoyed working in the retail industry for over 25 years but his true passion was helping others through his work for many charitable organizations.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to charities which were dear to David.

--------
Our hearts and soul's go out to David's chosen family. He was surrounded by family and friends at his passing, and I for one will miss is intoxicating smile and seemingly boundless energy. If you ever attended an auction for Southeast Olympus Leather or attended LLC you'll remember David's vivacious presence and love of this community. There are a few leatherfolk that I can honestly say I would have liked to have had the chance to know better and David was among those names.  In Leather - Vonn Tramel.

About Author

Vonn Tramel has been a kinky "friday night femme" since she was 17.  She found the Leather community in 2007 and began her Leather Journey in 2008 after attending a Cigar Play Class in Long Beach, CA at Pistons Bar. A meeting with Dave Rhodes in May of 2008, changed her path for better or worse when she filmed and photographed the 2008 West Coast Olympus Contest, then International Olympus in Chicago that year....the rest they say is her-story.

Edit: In 2012 she was approached by Dave to join The Leather Journal as it's Webmaster with business partner Bryan Teague.
