The Pacific Coast Motor Club will hold their annual Black Mountain reunion the weekend of July 17-21.
For over 40 years this four-night get-together has been PCMC’s signature event. A “pioneer-style” run nowadays, this is elegant low-cost, rustic camping at a large, isolated group site primarily for tents, with excellent basic amenities, in the dense evergreen forest high above Idyllwild and Palm Springs.
Pacific Coast MC provides a self-serve steak dinner on Saturday, as well as the trademark “Cocktail Rocks" Saturday sunset view party. A special Friday cocktail party will be hosted by the Bullet bar, and one or two other clubs usually put on an impressive Saturday brunch. The group has exclusive use of the grounds from Wednesday to Sunday, and impromptu potluck meals often arise, so bring whatever else you’ll need for however long you want to stay.
For a small fee, it’s a thoroughly delightful experience. Enjoy the mild weather, peaceful mountains, full moon and camaraderie at PCMC’s famous summer reunion.
