Jordan Frink was chosen Mr. Sister Leather 2014 at the Eagle LA in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday night, September 21 in a contest produced by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence: Los Angeles House. Another man named Andy competed. The Mad Tea Room Party was the theme. There was a meet and greet at Eagle LA on Friday night and the theme was Sacrilege.
Emcees Sister Unity in her well-known orange "face" and George Geary were on top of things from beginning end. They worked well together and are one reason that the Mr. Sister Leather is once of the favorite Leather contests in the Los Angeles title circuit.
Andy Covarrubias was named Mr. Regiment 2014 on Saturday October 19th in front of a packed house at the Eagle LA in Los Angeles, CA. Andy wowed the crowd...and the judges with his charismatic smile, articulate remarks and sexy interaction with the audience.
Matthew Mullins and Daniel Flores made it a close race as these two gentlemen were mere points from victory themselves.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence: Los Angeles House opened the show with a raunchy blessing that had the crowd in stitches and the judges were the victim of an banana prank that was a riot. It involved and insertion then force feeding. Beyond that is too much information.

Saturday, February 11, was the 50th Anniversary of The Black Cat Demonstration in which Avatar Club Los Angeles founding member and long time activist, Alexei Romanoff, participated as did many other Leatherfolk.
On Friday night, February 10, producers of LA A Queer History, screened films including the trailer for the film that includes an interview with Alexei.
The big event on February 11 saw gay Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell, cast members from Queer As Folk (Peter Paige, Michelle Clunie, Scott Lowell), Proposition 8 plaintiffs Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo, Wilson Cruz, LAPD Deputy Police Chief Bea Girmala, Alec Mapa and more speak as did Alexei Romanoff.
All events were at The Black Cat located at 3909 Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake and an area nearby including a bar then-owned by Romanoff, New Faces.
The Los Angeles Times reported the story in detail including an on-site interview with Alexei Romanoff - http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-black-cat-anniversary-20170210-story.htmll
How does this relate to today? one might ask. LA City Councilman Mitch O’Farrell, who helped organize the Black Cat Demonstration Anniversary, told the Los Angeles Times, "'...there were similarities in what’s happening today and what happened the night of the protest in Silver Lake.'"
"'They demonstrated in an organized fashion in an unprecedented way in 1967, and I feel there’s a real parallel to the current resistance' said O’Farrell, who represents Silver Lake and is gay. 'Fifty years ago, there was a resistance to authoritarian rule at the local level from the police … and there are parallels to what we’re feeling today with this administration.'"

My knee high 20 hole Doc Martins.
Is your run in April sponsored by an Event, bar, club, organization?
The Ms. Los Angeles Leather Organization http://mslaleather.com/ and the Los Angeles Leather Coalition http://lalc.info/ are sponsoring my run. The Ms. Los Angeles Leather Organization produced by Shae Flanigan brought this title back after 17 years and I am honored to have worn the sash for the past year.
Tell us about your favorite charity.
My Favorite Charity would have to You Are Not Alone. Being a suicide survivor myself and having mourned too many lives lost to suicide, I love being part of a movement that is there to help someone to not feel so alone that suicide is the answer.
Tell me in your own words how you feel about community service.
Service is about giving back and support. Those willing to give of themselves back to the people and places that helped them when they needed it most; to support in anyway your able to.
What makes you a Leather Woman and/or Bootblack? My love of my community, my desire to see my village to thrive. To be a mentor to the new generation, help them to experience the joys that our ways have to give.
Who is your favorite Leather Woman…Why?
Mistress Melissa Miles. She is the leather woman I hope to be when I grow up. She is the type of woman who doesn’t talk about what she is going to do, she just does it. She leads by action not talk. And she’s slightly scary.
Fawna, the recently-elected Coordinator of The Threshold Society in Los Angeles, CA, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2014.
She was a lovely face, passionate advocate, a delightful laugh and a helping hand. She left us too soon. Fawna also used the names aka FawnaLemon, Fawnasaurus, The Fawnanator.
She joined the Southern California community in 2009 and quickly became active by volunteering, including being elected to the Threshold Society, Inc. Board of Directors on more than one occasion, most recently to the position of Coordinator. She was also the founder and leader of the Domme Scouts Troop 96 (a kinky scout troop with a "twist," which is in its fourth year).
Fawna was a wonderful educator, a supporter of dreams and ambitions, and a real friend to many. The Southland Honors group honored her recently with a nomination for the 2014 Jeff Burnam Community Service Award for her devotion and hard work on behalf of the community. Her laugh, her energy and her heart will be sorely missed. Be at peace, Fawna.
