Pup Dazzle wins LA Pup 2017 title

Los Angeles Puppy Pride Weekend 2017 has come and gone and what a weekend it was. The highlight was the LA Pup 2017 contest which was won by Alfonso "Pup Dazzle" Vasquez and concluded on Saturday night, November 12 at the Bullet Bar in North Hollywood, CA with 200 Pupfolk and friends attending. The runner-up was Joshua "Pup Tek" Yeager.

The weekend started with the Pup Play LA class and play party at the Sanctuary Studios LAX on Thursday night. LA Pup Weekend attracted 600 people all told according to los angeles Puppy Pride producer Matthew Mullins Pup Play LA classes were taught by Tim Hamilton, Pup Zero and Pup Ash Tray.


The Dog Pound: Bark and Sniff meet and greet at the Bullet Bar on Friday night saw the first judged category, meeting judges and play in the puppy mosh pit. The theme was Army Dog in respect of Veterans Day. A roast of LA Pup 2016 Pup Zero followed the meet and greet.

Judges Amp Somers of Watts the Safeword, LA Pup 2016 Zero, International Pup 2002 Tim Hamilton, Mr. San Diego Leather 2016 Jay Heimbach, International Trainer 2014 Justin Sinclair, Mr. LA Leather Bear 2015 Sir Frank and The Leather Journal publisher and editor Dave Rhodes had ample time to visit with Pup Dazzle, Pup Tek, Pup Rush and Pup Matthias. Logan Whitehead was the tally master.

Contestant interviews were held at MCC in the Valley on Saturday afternoon.

The LA Pup 2017 contest emcees were Jeremy Ronceros and Don Mike. Contestants answered funny and serious questions drafted by the judges and preformed hot fantasies. There was no speech category.

The Legendary Pup Award, or Skullbit Award, was presented to Pug for her more than a decade of service to the community.

The weekend closed with the Bone victory party at the Eagle LA late Sunday afternoon.

People of note are art designer Dan Lovell, event coordinator Fernando Christopher and judges' boy Aaron Scott.

International Puppy Contest producer Joe Mastrapasqua was in attendance.

Pup Dazzle will represent los angeles at the International Puppy Contest in St. Louis July 6-9.
