Mr. Missouri Leather (MML), celebrated 33 years the weekend of February 26-28 at JJ's Clubhouse Annex in St. Louis Missouri where Ty Portell  from St. Louis was sashed the new Mr. Missouri Leather 201. Three men competed. For the first time in three years the weather cooperated with unseasonably warm weather with no snow or ice!

The now defunct Gateway MC founded MML in 1983 and was one of the longest running annual Leather contests nationwide sponsored by a single Leather club. In 2014, Terry Laupp, Mr. Missouri Leather 2010, and Chad Carroll took over the competition. Currently, Mr. Missouri Leather is the only drug-tested Leather contest in the nation.

The Heart of the Flag Federation announced that Shahrazad, Ms Leather Toronto 2016, is International Person of Leather 2016.

The International Person of Leather Contest was held on Saturday, February 6, in Las Vegas, NV, during Sin in the City at the Alexis Park Hotel from February 5-7.

The International Person of Leather Contest is a celebration of the diversity in the Leather community. The title exists to promote diversity and is a community service title because the Leather community consists of extremely diverse people with a common thread throughout, that thread being Leather culture.

Each year, a single International Person of Leather is selected, not based on gender-identity, sexual-orientation, race, physical appearance, age, or disability, but rather on their ability to articulate their views, passions, and dedications, and to make an impact in their communities.

IPOL expects these People of Leather to act as mentors, educators, role models and spokespeople throughout their title year. The goal of International Person of Leather is to promote and celebrate the diversity of Leather Culture, both regionally and internationally, throughout the alternative sex-positive community, on behalf of the International Person of Leather Contest. Person of Leather: one title, one community.

Shahrazad becomes the 18th Canadian and the fourth HOTF titleholder in five years to bring home an international title.

Five people ran for the title. The runner-up was Master Donna. Ikon was presented the fellowship award from last year’s titleholder IPOL 2015 Papa Bear.

HOTF would also like to take this opportunity to thank Shahrazad’s amazing support team, George, Victoria Windsor, and Susy Gee. Shahrazad’s team traveled with her to Las Vegas to assist in her run for the title.

A celebratory victory party was held for Shahrazad, on Saturday, February 13, at The 519, in the Grand Ballroom during Toronto Bound weekend.

Mr. Leather64TEN 2016 is James Tyrcha

Tyrcha told the Windy City Times, "I just needed to be open about my transition and be an advocate" for the transgender community, said Tyrcha, spurred to speak out by bathroom/locker room use debates for transgender and the hoard of trans-bullying and physical attacks, particularly against trans women.

Flash-forward to the present, and Tyrcha is now an award-winning trans male. Click here to see full article in the Windy City Times.

Trans males have fared well at International Mr. Leather with Tyler McCormick winning the title in 2010. Years before, Billy Lane finished in the IML Top 20.

Tyrcha said to The Leather Journal, "My passion in life is creating change through acceptance in our community.

Acceptance is the road to the future of our community, especially for our newest members. I love dogs, the beach, and life!"

There was a VIP party on Friday night at the Jackammer followed by a meet and greet.
